PIP delivery: Improving access to services

PIP Products are all now Online. The introduction online describes the products as: If services are to fully meet their aims of improving child and family outcomes they need to be accessible and shaped around the needs of local families. Increasing awareness of services, and providing information is a critical (and sometimes forgotten) first step to improving access. Local areas also need to think about how services should be delivered to fit the way that families live their lives.  This presents a complex challenge and the resources available under ‘Associated documents’ describe how 3 PIP local areas addressed just some of these issues. Steps taken include: improving the quality of information available to parents; focussing and targeting the provision of that information; enabling self-referral into services; and reshaping services through the effective use of outreach – across a range of agencies.
