Children and young people are increasingly using the internet and other information communicaion technologies (ICT) every day to learn, socialise, play games and carry out many other activities. This reflects the fantastic opportunities that this technology offers, but it also poses new challenges to us as parents and professionals, in seeking to ensure that our children and young people are safe. We all have a responsibility to develop our understanding of e-safety, so that we can protect children online in the same way we do in other areas of their lives. Fortunately there are many resources to help us do this and partners across Leeds are working together to take this forward:

Partners across Leeds are developing an e-safety strategy, which can be used to guide those who support and safeguard young people in using the internet and other ICT. A recent conference for schools and others introduced the draft of this e-safety strategy, which is currently open to consultation.
